ステーショナリーメーカーのHIGH TIDEと紙と活版印刷のオリジナルステーショナリーを扱うPAPIER LABO.のコラボブランド"PH stationary"が活動を始めています。
ノートなどの表紙は活版印刷で刷られているとのこと。今後商品が増えていくのが楽しみですね！制作の行程がここで見られます。

HIGH TIDE, the Japanese stationary maker, and PAPIER LABO. , the shop sells paper materials and letterpress stationary in Tokyo, are collaborated to make a brand new stationary label " PH".

10月16日から、文字の展覧会Typologic が開催中です。
場所は大手町の日本経済新聞社内のギャラリースペース。なので土日は基本休館。
活版の活字から携帯の文字まで、様々な作品やイベントをとおして楽しめます。

olive picking

マンザニロ種と思われます。
good harvest, olive manzanillo.

勤めている会社のビルには、ちょっとしたテラスがあって、そこにオリーブの木が植わっています。なんと、それが豊作！日当たりもよく、ここだけ地中海性気候なのだと思われます。
急きょ、オリーブ漬けをつくることになり、少し前の週末に、オリーブ摘みをしました。
このあとはあく抜きの期間を経て、塩漬けをする予定。
できあがりがかなり楽しみです。

We enjoyed olive picking a few weeks ago.
These olive trees are at the terrace in the company building which we're working at. I think this spot might be in the Mediterranean climate because they get lots of sun.
We had a good harvest this Autumn! so, we decided to pick them and preserve them in salt. After picking, we should washing them, and remove the harshness from them.
I can't wait to eat handmade pickled olives!

LA MOLINA + RUBIE GREEN

この秋、イタリアのLA MOLINAというチョコレートが日本上陸というウワサ。
LA MOLINAは、フィレンツェにほど近い街にお店があります。バレンタインの時期などには目にすることもありましたが、うれしいですね。
ロゴやパッケージも印象的。味も、ジンジャー、ペッパーなど全部食べたくなります。

Italian chocolatier " LA MOLINA" will debut in Japan 2009 Autumn.
I 've seen their products at the Valentine's day Fair etc before, but this news make me happy.
Their products are so nice and yummy...the flavors, named ginger, pepper...arouse my appetite. I love those packages! aren't they gorgeous? and logo designs too.

シルエットの表現は、レタープレスのアイテムでもよく目にするモチーフ。このフープピアスぐあいが素敵。

シンプルで色のきれいなプリントが美しい、ファブリックメーカー。
若い彼女のやっている若いブランドなんだけど、クラシックなデザイン×すべてオーガニックコットン100%、というこだわり。Webサイトもすてきですが、オーナーでデザイナーのMichelle Adamsさんのblogも、ソー・インスパイヤリング。

RUBIE GREEN is a fabric brand of Michelle Adams. She is young and the brand is young, but they are amazing. The products made in simple design and with 100% organic cotton. The web site is wonderful, and her blog is so inspiring!

甘い香りが街中に漂っています、キンモクセイ。
近くを散歩するだけでもいろいろ、実りの季節です。

Sweet smell filled around recently... "Kin-mokusei"(fragrant orange-colored olive) is now in bloom. I could find some other kind of nuts and fruits even in short time walk!

大量に落ちてたギンナン。放ってます...
seeds of Ginkgo trees, we eat roasted and salted ones...

ヨウシュヤマゴボウ。子供の頃、これで染めましたね。

永田哲也さんという作家さんが作られたものですが、密買東京で扱っています。これはすべて江戸時代の和菓子の木型を使って作られているそうです。
密売東京のサイトにはこのようにありました。

「冠婚葬祭や年中行事での菓子づくりに使われてきた菓子木型は、江戸時代から受け継がれ現在は衰退モード。古くはお祝いの都度、その内容に応じた図柄 を木型職人に特注し、それをもってお菓子をつくらせたというから、日本にはなんと粋な風習があったことか！職人は職人で、できあがりの和菓子を頭に描きな がら、左右・凹凸逆の意匠を彫りこんでいくそうで、その技量たるや相当なもの！」

「上流階級で使われた豪華で手の込んだ菓子木型は、それこそ芸術品に値するようなものも存在しそうな気がします。一方で野菜や果物・魚介など、庶民の 生活感あふれる菓子木型もたくさんあって。駄菓子感覚のものになってくると、拍子抜けするくらいの、くすっと笑えるモチーフやシュールな表現も。」

Those are paper envelopes called "GO-SHUGI-BUKURO" , for presenting a gift of money for celebrating someone's wedding.
We have so many kinds of Goshugi-bukuro in stores, but this is it! One of the best for me.

Can you see the shapes are embossed?
The shapes are from wooden blocks which was used to make sweets for celebrations in Edo period (about 400 years ago).

wagashi

夫のご両親が我が家にくることになったので、お茶菓子に、近所の和菓子屋さんで久々に和菓子を買ってきました。庭のナンテンの葉を飾ってみました。
練りきり、お餅、道明寺。栗や、菊のモチーフで、みんなで秋らしさを満喫いたしました。

I bought wagashi at a confectionery in our neighborhood, for a tea time.
Our parents were visiting to our house, and we enjoyed these autumn flavours.
Each season, we could find various kind of wagashi, which makes the season more brilliant!

Let them eat Cakeは、ビンテージの陶器を組み合わせ直して、なんともステキなアフタヌーンティー用の3段ケーキスタンドを作っている英国のクリエイター。
ミスマッチ具合ががなんともいい感じです。一番上がカップというのがニクイ。

このあたりなんかが非常にすてき。

They are so adorable.. I love these mixed combination of plates and cups.

garden : Megumi Kaneko

私の友人のイラストレーター、金子 恵さんの個展がはじまります。
本の装丁画を多く手がけている人気イラストレーター。
細く、手の動きが伝わる線と、人の、とくに女の子のたたずまいを描くときの温度や空気をはらんだ表現が私は昔から大好きでした。金子恵さんのブログはここで読めます。
久々に彼女に会えるので、楽しみです。

One of my friends, Megumi Kaneko will be held a private exhibition.
She is a talented illustrator, often works on cover illustration of Japanese novels and more.
I love her touch and delicate lines, and drawing style which describes air and atmosphere of objects, especially girls.
I'm excited to see her...it has been a long time since before!
